In a series of arrests over the weekend, the Federal Police enforced multiple warrants at the main train stations in Dortmund and Essen.
The arrests commenced on September 5th, with a 39-year-old man being apprehended at Dortmund Central Station. On the same day, a 53-year-old woman was arrested at Essen-Altenessen station. Both arrests were part of the ongoing enforcement of warrants issued by the public prosecutors' offices in Dortmund and Essen.
The following day, September 6th, saw further arrests. At around 7:00 PM, a homeless man was taken into custody at the main train station in Dortmund. This arrest was one of several enforced as part of the weekend's operations. The man's identity was confirmed through a fingerprint scan.
Meanwhile, in Essen, a high-speed chase in Stoppenberg led to the apprehension of two men suspected of trick thefts and attempted robbery. The 21-year-old and 24-year-old men were arrested, with the latter sustaining injuries after jumping off a garage roof. He was hospitalized, while both men were taken into custody by the police.

On the same day, a 43-year-old man was also arrested at Essen Central Station by the Federal Police. His arrest was due to a warrant issued by the public prosecutor's office in Essen, with a sentence of one year in prison for negligent money laundering in 2022. Additionally, he had another warrant for a sentence of one year and six months in prison for bodily harm, issued in 2017. The man was taken into custody and later transferred to a detention facility.
The man's arrest was part of the same weekend's operations, during which a sentence by Mettmann District Court in 2021 led to the arrest of a man at Dortmund's main train station. He was sentenced to a fine of 1,000 euros, or alternatively 100 days in prison. After making several phone calls, the man's employer's mother appeared and paid the fine, allowing him to leave the station.
